In one of my lives...

I still receive emails from sites like Mediabistro, (leftover from my old job) and most of the time I just delete them with a little twinge of happiness, but this morning this one caught my eye:

"Kick-start your food writing career in 2012 with our online Food Writing class starting January 9.
You'll create a portfolio of articles including a food feature, restaurant review, personal essay, recipe-driven story, and profile of a food personality with instructor Andrea Strong, the creator of The Strong Buzz."

This brought me back to the days I spent in my cube, wishing my life away, thinking of jobs that I would really enjoy and possibly be good at. Careers like "Menu Writer," "Food Blogger," "Taste Tester," "Restaurant Reviewer," even "Cafe Owner" all crossed my mind at some point. I don't think that I've completely given up on the idea and maybe I'll revisit the idea again sometime soon. But for now, I wont pigeonhole myself by just writing about food ;)

For now, I'm going to make a breakfast smoothie concoction with:
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- Pineapple
- Banana
- Spinach (I swear you don't even taste it)
- A small amount of protein powder (to add to the consistency)
- Ice / Water

I miss our European adventures...

So today a good travel buddy of mine shared some amazing news....she is doing some freelance work, which is requiring her to go back to London. No one deserves this opportunity more - she is a fantastic person, a hard worker, and best of all, she is tons of fun. I wish I was going back with her.
::wistful sigh:: One day.

True

Mia, I saw the picture you posted of Nick's handy-work, you're a lucky girl ;)

These things make me....

I usually don't post this many images, let alone all from the same site, but the other day while perusing some blogs for inspiration, I found this tumblr (via one of my faves: awelltraveledwoman)and was immediately drawn to its clean theme, bright colors and beautiful images. It's a bit "girlie" but sometimes a girl just needs that in her life.

I love wool socks. Love. And I really want to learn to knit.

Perfect tomboy outfit.

Pretty Parisian chic.

This outfit would be complete if she was wearing tomboy boots. Just sayin.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect black leather jacket for years.

I have a book like this...in my mind.
