I still receive emails from sites like Mediabistro, (leftover from my old job) and most of the time I just delete them with a little twinge of happiness, but this morning this one caught my eye:
"Kick-start your food writing career in 2012 with our online Food Writing class starting January 9.
You'll create a portfolio of articles including a food feature, restaurant review, personal essay, recipe-driven story, and profile of a food personality with instructor Andrea Strong, the creator of The Strong Buzz."
This brought me back to the days I spent in my cube, wishing my life away, thinking of jobs that I would really enjoy and possibly be good at. Careers like "Menu Writer," "Food Blogger," "Taste Tester," "Restaurant Reviewer," even "Cafe Owner" all crossed my mind at some point. I don't think that I've completely given up on the idea and maybe I'll revisit the idea again sometime soon. But for now, I wont pigeonhole myself by just writing about food ;)
For now, I'm going to make a breakfast smoothie concoction with:
- Plain Greek Yogurt
- Pineapple
- Banana
- Spinach (I swear you don't even taste it)
- A small amount of protein powder (to add to the consistency)
- Ice / Water
I just wrote down this smoothie recipe. sounds fab!
