I think it first started over the summer after I saw Woody Allen's
Midnight in Paris, that I started to have a new appreciation for Fitzgerald, Stein, and Hemingway. I think I speak for most people when I say that when I read "Old Man and the Sea" in High School it wasn't exactly my favorite. But learning more and more about Hemingway, I have a new love for him and a totally new perspective that I will bring into my own classroom. Personally, I am currently in love with him. His masculinity, his brusqueness, his alcohol tolerance... They all appeal to me in a nostalgic kind of way - Hemingway was a man's man. He was also a man of complex truths in simple sentiment. For example, one of my favorite quotes of his: "The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them." I have also been looking to him for style and general life living inspirations.

I really want to purchase this book and use it in my future classroom before I teach Hemingway.
"Maybe…you’ll fall in love with me all over again.”
“Hell,” I said. “I love you enough now. What do you want to do? Ruin me?”
“Yes. I want to ruin you.”
“Good,” I said. “That’s what I want too.
